In January 2016, a patient is transferred to the new Coronary Care Unit in Pavilion K, the installation of whose equipment was supervised by the Technical Services Department.

Ensuring the comfort and safety of buildings and equipment

The most significant achievement for the Technical Services Department in took place in January 2016, with the launch of Pavilion K, the new acute-care wing of the Jewish General Hospital. To ensure that safe, uninterrupted care would be provided to the patients who were moved to Pavilion K from the legacy building, all of the department’s teams worked very closely with numerous other departments and units throughout the hospital.

Also noteworthy in 2015-2016:

  • training and deployment of a multi-site Technical Services team to support the needs of users in facilities throughout CIUSSS West-Central Montreal
  • consolidation and standardization of practices in housekeeping, especially for sites where the need is greatest
  • cost-savings generated in the first year of the Eco-Energy project at the Jewish General Hospital, plus full resumption of a similar project at Jewish Eldercare Centre, for total annual savings of about $450,000
