Georges Bendavid

Director of Technical Services
Georges Bendavid

I am pleased to welcome Georges Bendavid as Director of Technical Services for the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux du Centre-Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal (CIUSSS West-Central Montreal).

In this new role, Mr. Bendavid will be responsible for prioritizing and implementing projects that support the provision of care and hospital services, as well as provide safe and comfortable environments for patients, visitors and staff.

He worked in the aeronautical industry in France, followed by over two years in Port au Prince, Haiti, in a plastics factory where he was in charge of overall production and maintenance. Mr. Bendavid started at the Jewish General Hospital in 2000 as a project manager, and was then promoted to Director of the project group. In this role, he oversaw and coordinated activities connected with the operation of physical facilities in the hospital.

In 2007, Mr. Bendavid reorganized his team so they could take on the major expansion of Radiation Oncology. This project earned Mr. Bendavid and his team the Quebec Project Management Institute’s first place prize in 2011. Two years later, he assumed the position of JGH Director of Technical Services and of Pavilion K, set to open in January 2016.

Mr. Bendavid received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1996, as well as a Master’s Degree in Research on the development of composite materials in 1998 at the École Polytechnique de Montréal.

“Together, we are about to start the process of integrating technical services across the CIUSSS West-Central Montreal,” says Mr. Bendavid. “Though we will face some challenges, and we will have to rethink our strategy and technologies, I am confident in the people and expertise we already have in place. There is a clear will to succeed, I am truly optimistic about the future.”

Together with Mr. Bendavid, the rest of the management team, and in partnership with all of the institutions in our network, I am eager to embark on this new era in health care. His experience before his time at the hospital and years working in the JGH Department of Technical Services prepared Mr. Bendavid to take on this new challenge. He will work to make sure the environments in all of our CIUSSS West-Central Montreal institutions are designed and equipped to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and the staff who care for them.

Hugo Ouellette

I am pleased to welcome Hugo Ouellette as Associate Director of Technical Services for the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociauxdu Centre-Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal (CIUSSS West-Central Montreal).

In this new role, Mr. Ouellette will be responsible for planning, measuring and controlling daily building operations with the goal of improving performance. He will oversee the management of technical services across the CIUSSS West-Central Montreal, which includes material resources, grounds, buildings and equipment. Additionally, Mr. Ouellette will supervise the departments that are part of Technical Services, such as laundry, housekeeping and enviro services, security and the project management group that works on construction and renovations in the facilities of our network.

Before moving into the healthcare sector, Mr. Ouellette worked in the pulp and paper industry as a manager. In 2009, he was hired as Chief of the Technical Aids Service at the Constance-Lethbridge Rehabilitation Centre. He worked in that role until 2014, at which time he was promoted to Interim Director of Technological Programs. This position included the Technical Aids Service, the Driving Evaluation and Vehicle Adaptation program, and Assistive Technology Program.

Mr. Ouellette holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on operations management from Concordia University. He is currently completing his Master’s degree in Organizational Development from the University of Laval.

“The role of Technical Services is extensive, and is essential to the proper functioning of our facilities,” says Mr. Ouellette. “I look forward to participating in the integration of our new network, by harmonizing and improving processes to improve quality. I am also confident that the creativity, diligence and leadership among our team will result in the success we expect, which will allow us to overcome any challenges along the way.”

Together with Mr. Ouellette, the rest of the management team, and in partnership with all of the institutions in our network, I am eager to embark on this new era in health care. Having worked in healthcare, I believe that Mr. Ouellette understands the impact of Technical Services on the experience of patients, clients and residents; everything from lighting and cleanliness to ventilation and equipment create the environments most conducive to healing and recovery during their time in our care.
