Director of Multidisciplinary Services
I am pleased to welcome Dan Gabay as Director of Multidisciplinary Services for the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux (CIUSSS) du Centre-Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal (CIUSSS West-Central Montreal).
In this new role, Mr. Gabay will be an active member of the Clinical Coordination Committee, with the objective of improving the patient experience by smoothing the transitions of care between multidisciplinary services.
Mr. Gabay worked as a business analyst with General Electric until he was hired at the Jewish General Hospital (JGH) in 2006. He led the creation of the hospital’s Department of Information Management, with the aim of developing information and data to support managers in their decision-making.
In 2008, Mr. Gabay transitioned into his most recent role as Associate Director of Professional Services. In this position, he recognized the great value of multidisciplinary teamwork and performance measurement. He understands that in the effort to promote continuous improvement, such practices are essential in order to identify and engage in best practices for the benefit of patients.
Mr. Gabay has a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Montreal.
“Law 10 is a call to re-imagine our ways of working in order to be sure we optimize the continuity of care for our patients,” says Mr. Gabay. “I am particularly excited about my appointment to this position, as it will give me the opportunity to mobilize the multidisciplinary teams across our CIUSSS West-Central Montreal, in close partnership with the Departments of Professional Services and Nursing in this, an unprecedented reform to the Quebec healthcare system.”
Together with Mr. Gabay, the rest of the management team, and in partnership with all of the institutions in our network, I am eager to embark on this new era in health care. The professional expertise Mr. Gabay brings to this position will help our efforts to improve the continuity of care for our patients. Under his leadership, our multidisciplinary services will work toward making the transitions between points of care, and between multidisciplinary services, seamless.
