Director of Logistics
I am pleased to welcome Virginie Tourte as Director of Logistics for the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux du Centre-Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal (CIUSSS West-Central Montreal).
In this new role, Ms. Tourte will be responsible for logistics, which covers purchasing, materials management, management of contracts (including the legal tender process) and transport. Under this umbrella, she will oversee the supply chain and flow of goods throughout our CIUSSS West-Central Montreal institutions.
With a view of improving the services provided by her department for users, Ms. Tourte will offer support, expertise and advice for all managers to ensure optimal planning for logistics and purchasing across departments, programs and institutions.
With a wealth of experience working in the European automotive industry, Ms. Tourte was hired at the Jewish General Hospital (JGH) in 2013 as Chief of Purchasing, and was promoted shortly thereafter to head the entire logistics and procurement department.
Trained as an engineer, Ms. Tourte also holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Purchasing Management.
“I am passionate about purchasing and logistics, and keen to continue the work I have been doing since 2013,” says Ms. Tourte. “Gradually, my new role will give me and my team the opportunity to introduce changes that will liberate clinical staff currently devoting time to logistics-related tasks. Ultimately, they will be able to spend more time with patients and efficiency will be improved across our CIUSSS West-Central Montreal.”
Together with Ms. Tourte, the rest of the management team, and in partnership with all of the institutions in our network, I am eager to embark on this new era in health care. I am confident that Ms. Tourte will continue to build on the work that she has been doing over the past several years, and that further improvements in her area of responsibility will result in a more streamlined and standardized practice for our entire CIUSSS West-Central Montreal. These changes will undoubtedly benefit staff in clinical and non-clinical settings and by extension, benefit our patients as well.
